Just 3 km (2 miles) from the town of Playa del Carmen, this resort offers both beachfront relaxation and a tropical retreat into 1.6 hectares (4 acres) of lush garden. The resort has a Caribbean flavor with buildings painted tropical colors of yellow, pink, and green. Its friendly ambience and slightly smaller scale attracts mostly families.
After enjoying the two pools, children’s pool, and spa tub, guests can stroll the 100 meters (330 feet) to Mexican Street, in front of sister resort, Riu Yucatan. Mexican Street houses a fitness center for guests of all four Riu resorts in the area, along with a privately operated spa offering a menu of massage, beauty, and hair treatments and services (surcharges for all spa and beauty treatments and services). The street also hosts jewelry, photo, handcrafted items, and souvenir shops.
